Brook House – Holywood
Completed in 2014 this project required both a restoration and series of extensions to a derelict Georgian property that was built in 1830. The brief for Brook House called for a complete revival of all existing original features including the ornate mouldings and timber windows which formed the reference point for all additional interventions.
The series of extensions to Brook House included a large kitchen, dining and sitting room with a lantern roof light and bi-folding doors opening to a terrace and a double storey garage and bedroom connected via a gallery type walkway.
Built with local stone on one side and framed brick insets on the other this walkway was used to separate the natural flow from original spaces and new kitchen and living to the more private areas that included a small sauna with views to a planting area at the rear. The surrounding gardens of Brook House have also been extensively landscaped and restored to their original state.
